Seekers (Working Title)
A Film Series Following People Looking For God
The Issue:
According to the Global Religious Futures Project conducted by the Pew Research Institute, "The percentage of American adults who identify as Christian has been declining each year, while the share who do not identify with any religion has been rising rapidly." However, according to that same study, “people who are active in religious congregations tend to be happier and more civically engaged than either religiously unaffiliated adults or inactive members of religious groups.”
The Question:
Why then is there a decline in adherence to religious practice if generally those who practice faith and seek God are happier?
The Vision:
Explore this question in a documentary film series that brings together representatives from the five major world religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism) and those who do not believe in God (Atheism) to converse about their beliefs, faith traditions, personal experiences and to grow in understanding about their choices to seek or God or not to seek God.
